The PurpleAir Project

Did you know that Kamloops has worse air quality than Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary? Or that our city has not one but multiple air sheds that are constantly changing on a minute by minute basis?

That's according to Dr. Michael Mehta, an environmental social scientist at Thompson Rivers University. We recently spoke with him about a new initiative called PurpleAir, an innovative way of monitoring air quality in real time using a multitude of low cost, high technology, coffee cup sized sensors.
